A Lightworker's Journal - "Little Boy Blue"

A Lightworker’s Journal
Maurice Turmel PhD

“Little Boy Blue”

Once upon a time there was a boy who came to earth to undergo a program of preparation for an adventure he had agreed to on the spiritual side of the “veil.” On the earth side, the veil was very thick, opaque it seemed, where so few people could remember the spiritual side of life.

As our boy entered into the atmosphere that formed the earth’s density, he too appeared to forget about life on the spiritual side, so overtaken was he by the intensity of the matrix environment that now surrounded him.

There seemed to be danger everywhere.  All he could see was terror and revenge experiences being played out with people hurting each other and people trying to hurt him.  Even his parents, it seemed, could be quite callous and abusive, especially his father.

He realized later that his parents were trapped in the same matrix system as he now found himself in, but they couldn’t see their way through, while at this time he still held a glimpse of the glorious life he knew before entering this sphere.  He decided then and there that he had to get back to that glorious place where none of this matrix stuff mattered.  But he would have to work his way through the current densities to regain what he now faintly remembered having enjoyed before.

This was a difficult task indeed.  There were dangers everywhere it seemed, especially from that entity called “father” who was prone to raging outbursts and physically beating his children. Our boy grew up in this atmosphere, absorbed many blows which eventually led to even greater losses and heartaches, so much so, that he began to feel he was losing himself.  The day finally came when he knew he had to wake up from this nightmare.  He could see that he had fallen so low, he felt he could barely raise his head.

It is at this point where he had to make the choice. “Do I survive this set of circumstances, or do I just give in and fade away?”  He decided he had to survive and he had to break that negative spell that had come to surround him in what should have been a safe family environment.

As he moved through the childhood and adolescent years, he set out to achieve this new goal.  In early adulthood, he secured help for himself from people with credentials that knew this tortuous path and could provide skills and strategies that would help lift him above these negative circumstances.  Through such processes as therapy and counselling he started to gain trust and self-confidence.  He quickly learned that the way through these difficult circumstances was to get to know himself better, to affirm his own goodness, despite the negative commentary that had steadily come at him in those earlier years. What he was learning was to recognize his true nature, and ultimately this would lead to his inner Divinity.

The processes of counselling and therapy were quite a revelation, groundbreaking one could say.  He added to these strategies some new found educational pursuits which also helped him work through this plethora of life riddles, the worst of which had led him down a path to self-hatred.
This he realized was a definite wrong turn and he must undo this particular psychological knot before he could get anywhere near to fully rescuing himself.
This particular goal he ultimately accomplished by sticking to his newfound path, listening to his recently activated “inner voice” and then recognizing the many subtle “nudges” that came along with being focused on his goal.

Now he realized, this inner voice was his “spirit,” working away quietly in the background, nudging him to continue uncovering more of who he really was.  The more he learned, the more he wanted to learn.  And pretty soon spiritual growth and personal development were all he could think about and all he wanted to focus on until he felt more comfortable with himself in this new direction.

These revolutionary pursuits were leading the way to inner freedom, an experience he understood, but actually never felt until this new path opened before him. He now realized that freedom meant self-acceptance, self-forgiveness and self-love. Oh that last one was a big one, and ugh, yes, letting go of that negative ego thing that had become part of his crippling early life, was now a top priority.

He acknowledged all of these factors with each step he took. Owning the hurt and the pain he had accumulated was essential to the process. Only by accepting and feeling the damage done by those early blows could he ultimately undo their hold on him.  So he cried when necessary and he healed.  He shared when prompted and he healed. He did these together whenever that was appropriate.  No more trying to hide or repress that which inside was pressing to be released.  The body had its own need for healing and showed him where he needed to pay attention.

Soon he began to realize he actually was never alone.  He had guides who talked to him regularly, who were always gentle and caring and often whispered sweet encouragement in his ears that helped his heart grow.

Now a new thought entered his mind. Everyone he had ever met and had interactions with were actually teachers, as opposed to obstacles in his life.  Those teachers, both good and bad, did show him that he had to secure himself, that he had to care for himself and that he needed to release the traumas that had so gravely crippled him in those earlier years.

There was no going back now.  Only freedom lay ahead, and yes, Love, lots and lots of Love.  So much so at times he couldn’t imagine it all and felt dizzy and overwhelmed with how powerful and durable these waves of Love could be.

At this point he made another significant realization.  Many of his fellow human beings were suffering similar plights as his own. They too had become crippled up with defence strategies that kept them repeating self-defeating patterns. And they too most certainly were in need of rescuing as well.  However, he quickly realized that one could not step in and do it for them. Because, as he had just learned, they needed to rescue themselves.

These stranded souls also needed good tools, similar to those he had acquired on his journey to this point. Only then could they too could solve the riddles of their lives.  The lesson here was, every human had to do this for themselves. Yes, there was plenty of help available, but the commitment and the doing had to come from them.

With that in mind, he and his guidance began to work out a plan.  Perhaps they could serve up some of those valuable tools in the form of stories and song lyrics that he, our Little Boy Blue, could deliver in an entertaining and non-threatening fashion. He was already receiving such stories and song ideas, and early feedback indicated that, for some people, these could be quite helpful.

Perhaps these spiritual menu items could be served up like a smorgasbord, where people could come up and choose only those items and experiences  they were ready for, and then come back again and again when they were hungry for more.  Like any good smorgasbord, the available choices would seem endless, and that’s because new “items” would seem to appear everyday, as people learned more and more about what they actually needed.

You see, our boy’s own life had become a buffet of choices that he selected from, and every choice led to even more choices that he could only recognize once he had benefitted from the earliest solutions he applied.
In other words, change and growth were progressive.  Every choice had a consequence, a lesson and a benefit, and each of these would then reveal a person’s next step.

So now he understood that all these people in pain, like he had been, had their own sources of guidance and they needed to turn inwards and listen to see and then react to what was already being offered.  Self-help tools took on a whole new meaning.  What people actually needed and benefitted from were the choices that they made for themselves.  Then they would begin to grow, and grow further with each new choice until they found their way back to that original point of separation. This would be where they had become disconnected from their true selves through the shock of arriving on Earth psychologically vulnerable, with little memory of their basic godlike nature.

This, he realized, was the rift that had to be healed and that would be the focus of any program that he and his guides could offer, through these mediums of stories and music. Our boy had to traverse this territory himself, and find his way back to the Light, before he could show others how they could do that for themselves. He then sensed that he was perhaps a
Way-shower, a term he had seen in the esoteric literature.

As he began to engage this new direction, he quickly learned that those who were ready  and willing, just dove right in and their progress became rapid and phenomenal.  But he also learned, that many individuals were not ready for such methods, because they weren’t quite ready to give up their adaptations to whatever dysfunctions in living they had come into.  Some people just feared any kind of change and would not dare tread into those cleansing waters just yet!

But those who felt the stirrings and listened to those voices from within, they were ready to move on, to grasp at methods they could quickly relate to, adapt them to their specific needs and find their way back to the Light.

This was an important revelation, for our boy had no idea how such a process would take hold, unless a person actually felt ready to take it on for themselves.  The story once again became about choice.  People had to choose such a path for themselves.  They had to make that decision.  Only then would all the forces that the Universe had to offer, could readily and easily come online, which led to the smorgasbord/buffet and led to people choosing their personally designed menu for success.
So our boy’s program was shaping up to be about “turning people on to themselves,” by learning to love and accept themselves as they were. Ultimately, they too would come to realize through their own efforts, that they were here for a bigger purpose and that purpose could only be activated by them.

This was the key to self-discovery and self-reliance.  It was the roadmap that led back to that place called Home.  “Home is where the Heart is” was the message every generation of prophets and storytellers had been sharing with humans since time immemorial.

So now today, this very story was being revealed again, to anyone who was ready to hear and to heal.  Because for this current generation, the Wake Up Alarm had been sounded.  People everywhere were feeling something new in their hearts. The call to Come On Home was growing louder every day.

Our little boy, as one example, had become a man, and while doing so, had gone from feeling completely lost, to feeling fully awake and alive, and then best of all, to feeling at Home with Himself.  This is our boy’s story of coming to terms with his True Self.  This was the very path that every Hero and Heroine in Mythology had to achieve for themselves - the path that led straight to the Heart, that inner space we ultimately recognize as Home.

“Welcome Home” was the greeting he heard from The Voice inside, the voice he now recognized as the Great Creator,  the voice of his Higher Self, the voice of his own Divine Nature.

Mission Accomplished!!!

The Voice - A Training Manual for Souls

The following is an inspiration story crafted as a Sci-Fi adventure. I wrote it over a period of a year in the mid-90s. For almost three years prior I had been writing parable stories and fables as teaching guides to pass along important psychological and spiritual principles I had been exposed to. Over the years, these had come to me through nearly 500 books read from the early 70s onward, and through my three decades as a therapist. Now that I have a clearer understanding of what’s referred to as personal and spiritual growth, I’ve come to regard this book as a Training Manual for Souls.
I describe The Voice as a mythical story, the kind we humans have been telling each other over the centuries through our collective mythology. It’s the kind of story that aims to open us up to our deeper selves by taking us on a soul healing journey, not unlike most variations of The Hero Myth.  The latter has been best exemplified by Joseph Campbell’s stellar analysis of the form. In this case it’s not about defeating multi-headed monsters or evil sorcerers. It’s a story that favors our inner world, our emotional and spiritual development, with lessons on self-acceptance, self-responsibility and self-love. To quote Albert Einstein in a letter to his daughter: “Love is the most powerful force in the Universe.” In this book that Universal Love emanating from our Divine nature is what our characters are aiming to connect with. One of our main characters in this story is God of course, as is often the case in mythology.
I believe we’re on the threshold of a significant change for humanity, and such times are always painful, for us personally and for the society in which we live. In either case, there is never a shortage of critics ready to assail the “New” that’s trying to be born. In times of change, there are always individuals who don’t want to hear messages that require them to re-examine their lives. They don’t want their rigidly grounded preconceptions about who they are and and their place in life to be challenged. So they pounce when they hear anything contradictory to those established norms. This is the old guard, always ready to counter anything that smacks of change, even when it’s for the better.
The 80s gave us a plethora of self-help books and practices to choose from. We had gurus of many stripes come forward with their answer to our collective pain and self-doubt. We connected with our Inner Child.  We learned about dysfunctional family dynamics (John Bradshaw). We learned about addictions and their consequences to all family members (Melodie Beattie). And we started visiting the New Age bookstores which were blossoming at time with many such authors showing up on Oprah (e.g. Shirley MacLaine). I read lots of these books as they helped with my practice and the kinds of issues that were showing up there. I started referring to this group of readers/clients as The Healing Generation and included myself of course. We were the ones exposing our psychological wounds so they could be dealt with, the ones delving into family dynamics, the ones going to AA support groups and attending spiritual and personal growth seminars.
For me this was the beginning of Conscious Evolution and books with that reference were starting to show up. I saw it as conscious, because those referred to as the healing generation were choosing not to be part of that victim mentality anymore. It’s called conscious today, because we who have chosen this path, now realize we have to pace ourselves through our sorrows and fears in order to be done with them. And as we learn about our healing processes we pass that learning on to the next generation and the one after, repeating the same cycle that has characterized our collective human mythology.
Are you ready for your consciousness to evolve? Are you ready to receive and express your gifts of love and creativity? Are you ready for ascension into the next dimension of consciousness? Then step up!

Grief & Loss and the Holidays

The holidays are upon us again. The US also celebrates Thanksgiving at this time of year, after which the big focus will be Christmas and New Years. Holidays are always difficult for persons in Grief.

The loss of someone important to us comes boldly to the fore at this time.  We feel their absence more intensely than at any other time of the year.  The tendency is to want to withdraw from all the merry making and  celebrating when we are feeling so low about our loved one.

It is necessary to push at times like these. And be prepared to cry more than usual. This would be a good time to write a letter to your loved one, letting them know how much you miss them and whatever else you're feeling at the moment. This is for you, to help reduce the stress, to acknowledge how much you miss them and how it hurts to be without them. This is not a permanent condition. It too will pass.

For those of you engaged in the How to Cope with Grief and Loss strategies, you will be turning to your journal more often at this time. It's been working for you so far so just ramp it up as much as you need.  Listen to the relaxation program. Read and listen to your favorite passages in the book. And let yourself feel. Although this may be intense, when you come out the other side, you will be greatly relieved and your recovery process will have taken a giant leap forward.

For those of you struggling without guidance, we wish you well. Your tendency as already mentioned will be to distance yourself from activity in order to try and avoid what you're feeling. That'll just make it worse. Be with friends and family at this time, especially if you are sharing this
loss with others. There should be some comfort there for you.

Feeling Connected

Sometimes when we are feeling lost and alone we don’t know which way to

turn to possibly renew a friendship.

That pal we had so long ago is lost to us now. They have faded away like

so many things from our earlier life.

Are we to believe that we can no longer sustain such relationships? Are we

to let go of all those sources of comfort that once enjoined us and caused
us great pride.

Our affections for others are what keep us alive. That is, our connection

to each other invites us to live again, to breathe, and to satisfy those
cravings for friendship we once carried around and dismissed.

It’s not true that we have to let go of all this as time marches on. It
is true however, that we have a greater need for each other as the years
speed on by.

When we’re alone, we’re alone, but not in the factual sense. We are

alone because we feel alone. And we are together because we feel connected.

Connected means enjoined. It means we are happy to be in the service of

the Lord. He/She is our Creator and Guide. She/He is our Source of constant
comfort. Without the Creator we wouldn’t have each other, given that we all
sprang from the same “Source.”

Now we are ready to move on, to join with each other once again and to

share what we know and cherish. The twilight of life is a better place if
our lessons to this point have taught us about the value of having good
companions while marching on this pilgrimage toward home.

Home is where the heart is, and that is where we are all joined together,

isn’t it?

Dr Moe - I Have Arrived

I Have Arrived
Copyright: Maurice Turmel AKA “Dr Moe” 2016

(1)
Where am I traveling to
Where am I going next
Where do I get off this time
Who do I impress

Second to none, you can be sure
I’m saying to you all
Not me baby, that’s for sure
I won’t drop the ball

Chorus:
I Have Arrived
I Have Arrived

(2)
Proving my worth, like I should
Is what life’s all about
Chasing rainbows, hiding from doubt
That’s no longer what it’s about

Life purpose says, that through my heart
I rise once again
Face those dangers, do my best
It’s my time to begin

(3)
All I want to know, is who I am
What am I doing here
Still chasing rainbows, when You draw the line
Can I find solace, dear

You say those hazards are part of the way
So don’t get caught, check every day
Your heart will draw to you, what is Mine

All else is thunder, so let go that line

A Letter from Santa

A Letter from Santa
Maurice Turmel PhD
(Originally published in “Mythical Times - Exploring Life, Love & Purpose” by the above named)

Oh gather ye round all my children
For I have a tale to tell of the dawning of man
She and He came to Earth a long time ago
To celebrate this life that had been given and was blessed

Oh what wonders befell you as you ventured forth on the Earth
To discover your being in all that mattered
It was never meant to be difficult this journey through time
Only a gentle romp through the woodlands and across the plains

Do not despair, my fragile friends, for you have only gone astray temporarily
He who knows all and sees all is here to guide you back
To that gentle place within where the poetry of your Soul resides

The Creator has written many stories and poems to you over time
To advise you of this sacred place within
You faltered on your journey outward and failed to notice the signs
So He comes to you often, in prose, in poetry and in rhyme

Each year at this time you remember Him softly
In the heart of your yearning womb
You can feel that presence sublime, pulsing within your frame
More alive at this time than throughout the year

We of the ethereal realms reach you better now it seems
For your hearts are more open and we are easier to find
You receive us because you want us and we, in turn, find our way to you
Have you ever wondered how this all started?
Where it began, this special time?
You call it Christmas; we call it Love
In our world it makes no difference, as long as you feel the pulse inside

Remember when you were young and oh so eager then too
Awaiting Santa’s reindeer to appear on your roof
You believed so easily then in the power of the mind
You never doubted that He would arrive

Your parents helped with the story, taught to them in their youth
And so on, and so on, all the way back in time
Now you await your truth again, in the eyes of the children before you
They are here to remind you of what you once knew

That the Power of Love has existed since before time
Since before there was an Earth or Heaven above
And the Power of Love insisted that it be known through time
So this purpose of yours came to be born

So many of you chose to come on this journey
To learn all that you could about Life
Here on this Earth you can see afar
Out to the planets and the stars suspended in the sky
They teach of vastness, of triumph, and of destiny too
They teach you to dream and to look way beyond whom you think you are

These beacons of Light, you can take deep into your heart
And rekindle the flame that once burned bright

You are great, you are His sacred ones
Sent forward from the Light
Here to learn “what you can do” to spread this message
That all is really right with this world
In spite of the troubles that lurk about

You see this eternal flame that burns brightly from within
Is not ashamed of its presence, to have itself be known
Its power is eternal, It is not shy
To be expressed is all that It asks

So on Christmas morning, when you awake
Remember this message from deep in your Soul
You are not lost, you are not forsaken
You are to be found where your feelings reside

There in your Heart center, where the truth breaks to surface
There can be no mistaking that Love has taken hold
And this message is not to be forgotten
For it is of the greatest story that has ever been told

When each of you surrenders to this Guiding Light
Another star lights up the sky to cast its beam into the forever Void
Pushing back the darkness a little further
Each time one of you finds their way Home
Isn’t it a great story that you all get to play a part in?
A piece of living history that unfolds itself through you?
You are of the Light Everlasting
You are a Beacon of His Love
Your are a Star in His “Forever Army”
Of life and purpose, and oh yes, so much more

Do not be ashamed of your Being any longer
It is sacred; you must know this without a doubt
He does not cast Himself in rubble, or in stone
Only into the hearts of those whose purpose can be His own

This is our tale of Christmas, a message we give to you
In a package that has shaped itself throughout your history
Each year we bring to you another such message
To be added to the annals of unfolding time

Teach your children this truth of the Light Everlasting
Show them that It resides within
And take no stock in what others tell you
Of this or that not being the true path
Only theirs, or so they claim

The true path for all is illumined by one’s Soul
And that Soul was His to begin
Now it is yours to take you forward through this Life
To learn and then teach what truth you come to know

Everyone has purpose, and love and magic too
Everyone has meaning in the Grand Design
To be sure, that is His Way
To provide that which is needed to sing His praises
Throughout the annals of time
To sing His praises is to sing your own, you see
For you are of Him who has sent forth His Sons and Daughters
His Offspring is you, you see
And you are His to be sure
Till the end of time, and of course, beyond that as well

As we bid farewell to this magical mystery tour
In prose, in poetry and in rhyme
We return to where It all began, the very first Christmas
Somewhere near the dawning of time

Merry Christmas We say to you all

From Santa . . . and from . . . the Divine
